Switzerland wins opening game of the Worlds

The Swiss team openend the scoring of their first game in the World Championship at home in the third minute of the game thanks to a goal by Pius Suter.

The increased their lead through another goal by the same line in the 12th minute. This time Sven Andrighetto hit the back of the net. The second period saw chances for both teams but neither team was able to convert on them.

However, Team USA found back into the game in the 49th minute of play thanks to a goal by Alex Steeves. The Americans now took a hold of the game and put pressure on the Swiss net. The Swiss managed to withstand the onslaught and made it all clear in the 57th minute thanks to a goal by Ken Jäger.
