The 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Disciplinary Panel has issued a one-game suspension to Timo Meier for violating IIHF Official Playing Rule 50 (Kneeing). The incident occurred in the 35th minute of play in the game between Sweden and Switzerland.

Meier received a minor penalty for cross-checking during the game. After reviewing the play, the Disciplinary Panel has determined that while Meier did not intend to injure the opposing player, the extension of his knee "created dangerous contact and endangered the safety of the opposing player."
