As the SIHF announced today, the 2024 edition of the SWISS Ice Hockey Games is going to be played in Fribourg. The tournament - the Swiss part of the Euro Hockey Tour - is taking place from December 12 to 15. Five games are scheduled (the breakout game will likely be held in Prague), and the participants are the usual suspects - Sweden, Finland, and Czechia.

"For the third edition of the SWISS Ice Hockey Games, we have once again opted for Fribourg as the venue in view of the 2026 home World Championship", the SIHF's Director of Marketing & Sponsoring, Marco Baumann, notes. "This offers Fribourg as a venue, the World Championship Organizing Committee, and the Swiss national team another excellent opportunity to gain important experience with regard to the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Switzerland."
