Last autumn was the first time Switzerland was invited to the Euro Hockey Tour, replacing Russia. The contract has now been extended for an additional three years, meaning the Swiss men's national team will be part of the series of tournaments until 2027.
"We are delighted and proud that we have been able to extend our contract with the Euro Hockey Tour prematurely", Swiss Ice Hockey CEO Patrick Bloch states. "The fact that the other nations want us to continue shows that we play attractive, high-quality ice hockey which is popular in Europe." Bloch also mentions that this decision was made separately from the situation regarding Russia.
This also means that the SWISS Ice Hockey Games will remain a thing for the duration of the contract.
