Timo Meier is set to undergo shoulder surgery. It is not unexpected that the forward is not going to join the national team: Meier told media at the New Jersey Devils' last press day of the season that he would have to wait for the results of his medical exams before he would make a decision regarding his participation at the World Championship.
Meier appeared in 69 games for the Devils this season, recording 28 goals and 29 assists.
