In the first week of the preparation, the team will travel to Füssen() to play two games against Germany. Then on December 17, the Swiss will fly to Ängelholm (), where they will spend their second week of preparation. Two more test games are scheduled there, one against Sweden and one against Canada.
The selection sees six players who play in North America, three from Sweden, and 19 youngsters from Swiss clubs. Switzerland will start the tournament against Slovakia on December 27. The other opponents in the group stage are the USA (December 28), Norway (December 30) and the Czech Republic (December 31).
