The Swiss U20 national team managed to get to overtime, but eventually lost 3-2 which meant the end of their tournament in the quarterfinal.
Down 2-0 after the first period, Switzerland managed to erase the deficit thanks to goals by Jan Hornecker and Nick Meile, and made it to overtime. A hooking penalty by Rodwin Dionicio would spell the end for the Swiss group - Axel Sandin Pelikka scored on the powerplay for Sweden, taking his team to the semifinal.
Switzerland finishes the 2024 World Junior Championship in seventh place, with just one win - against Norway - in five games.
