Switzerland beat Slovakia 3-2 tonight. They laid the groundwork for their win at the end of the first period, scoring twice within 22 seconds. Loris Wey and Mike Aeschlimann put Switzerland on the scoresheet.

In the 37th minute of play, Kevin Haas recorded the third goal of the game, making it 3-0 Switzerland. While the Slovakian managed to get on the board in the 48th minute of play and even came within one 10 seconds before the end of the game. However, they were unable to turn the game around.
The Swiss team will thus advance to the quarterfinal and play against the second-placed team in Group B.
