HC Ambrì-Piotta has announced that Alex Formenton is heading to Canada. The forward has been granted an indefinite leave of absence for personal reasons. As the club notes, they will not provide any further statements regarding the matter.
Formenton was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in 2017 played for them until 2022. Not having received a new contract with the NHL organization, the forward joined the Biancoblù in December of the same year and again for the current season.
The Canadian also has international experience, he participated at the 2018 U20 World Championship.
