As Lausanne HC announced earlier today, Geoff Ward will remain part of the organization until 2028. It is the second time the head coach is seeing an early extension; his initial contract, signed in 2022, would have expired this summer but was renewed a year ago to last until the end of the coming season.
"I am extremely happy and honored to be able to continue this adventure alongside the entire LHC organization, including the players, management, coaching staff, administrative staff, and, of course, our owner Gregory Finger", 63-year-old Ward comments. "As long as I am in Lausanne, we will never stop aiming for the top of the table, for the people of Vaud deserve to be proud of their club."
Team manager John Fust's words mirror the coach's sentiment: "Being able to continue with Geoff Ward as head coach of the LHC is a great opportunity for us. We are convinced that his approach and ideas are aligned with the club's ambitions. He has become a highly respected figure in the community and perfectly embodies the values we wish to convey, both on and off the ice."
In his time with Lausanne thus far, Ward has reached the National League final twice with his Lions, alongside one third-place and one first-place finish in the regular season.
