His original contract would have been valid until the end of the 2023-24 season. They have now added three seasons more to his deal.

Benoît Jecker is a product of HC Fribourg-Gottéron's organization, but made his debut at the professional level with EHC Biel in the 2013-14 season. After several seasons in Biel and two years in Lugano, he returned to the Dragons in 2020.

Last season, the defenseman appeared in 52 regular-season games for the Dragons, recording four goals and eight assists.
