SC Bern has announced the signing of Sandro Zurkirchen to a one-year deal. Until recently, the goaltender was a member of EHC Kloten, but it has been known since November that he would not stay with them for longer than this past spring.
In Bern, Zurkirchen joins a group of goalies consisting of Adam Reideborn, Andri Henauer and Chrisof von Burg.
The Bears are the 35-year-old's sixth National League team, after EV Zug, HC Ambrì-Piotta, Lausanne HC, HC Lugano and as mentioned, Kloten.
This past regular season, Zurkirchen made 26 games, posting a save percentage of .916 and averaging 2.38 goals against per game.
