On December 9, Brian O'Neill collided with an opponent. Initially thought to be a neck muscle problem, but more extensive examinations show damage to the vertebrae, for which the 35-year-old underwent surgery just before Christmas.
The forward explains to "Blick" that the recovery process is going well and no setbacks have been encountered thus far. Still, there is not a precise timeline for a comeback "because every person, every body copes with such an injury differently".
In the situation he is in, and with his contract with EV Zug expiring in a couple of months, the veteran is wondering about his future. As he tells "Blick" he would like to stay with the Bulls, however, he understands that for team manager Reto Kläy this is not a pressing matter at the moment.
Last season, his first with EV Zug, O'Neill suited up 61 times for the Bulls, scoring 16 goals and collecting 31 assists. This championship, he was limited to 29 games, in which he recorded 21 points (ten goals).
