As Klaus Zaugg writes on "Watson", trustworthy sources from the East Coast of the USA report that Ian Mitchell will play for SC Bern next season. Mitchell has spent the majority of his time in the AHL, most recently for the Grand Rapids Griffins. He was drafted 57th overall in 2017 by the Chicago Blackhawks.
With the signing of Mitchell, one of the two import defenders currently on Bern's payroll, Anton Lindholm and Hardy Häman Aktell, Zaugg speculates. Contacted by the journalist, Martin Plüss only states that "as usual, we do not comment on rumors."
This season, Mitchell scored four goals and put up 13 assists in 40 games with the Griffins. Overall, he collected 119 points in 213 AHL games and 19 points in 110 NHL games.
