Capitals' forward Sonny Milano to join SCB, goaltender trade still an option?

According to Klaus Zaugg ("Watson"), Sonny Milano will join SC Bern for the 2026-27 season. The "Berner Zeitung" reports the same. The forward appeared in over 340 NHL games and over 180 AHL games throughout his career in North America. 

This season, he recorded four goals and four assists in 31 games for the Capitals and five goals and eight assists in 16 games for the Hershey Bears, the Caps' AHL affiliate. 

Zaugg also reports that Samuel Kreis has been signed to a one-year contract extension. According to the "Berner Zeitung", Marc Marchon's option has also been activated. The "Berner Zeitung" further reports that Sandro Zurkichen's contract has been extended, too. However, the Bears have apparently not yet given up on their potential trade with Lausanne HC. 

Connor Hughes is apparently still of interest to them, and LHC is interested in acquiring EHC Kloten's Ewan Huet as a new backup, but also hopes that the Bears will still offer something in exchange for Hughes. Should this three-way deal not get done, the "Berner Zeitung" speculates that they will likely look for an import goaltender. 

The Bears have also signed defenseman Rolands Naglis, 19, and forward Daniels Serkins, 18, to professional contracts. They will thus get a chance to make next season's roster.
