Another would-be free agent after this season is off the market. Simon Knak, currently a member of HC Davos, has signed a new contract with the ZSC Lions, starting next summer and lasting until 2031.
"Simon is a power forward who brings an intensity to the ice that only few Swiss forwards can match", Knak's future team manager Sven Leuenberger mentions. "His scoring stats are already impressive at such a young age. He fits perfectly into our team in terms of age structure and, together with our many home-grown players, is set to become part of the next generation that can grow together."
Growing up as part of EHC Kloten, Knak made his Swiss League debut during the 2018-19 season. The following summer, he moved to North America to join the Portland Winterhawks. A year later, the forward was loaned to Davos for half a season and made his National League debut at the age of 18. Since fully returning to Switzerland in 2021, he has now made 226 games in blue and yellow. The yellow will be replaced by white soon.
