The 21-year-old defender thus stays in Zug untill the 2023-2024 season, EV Zug announces in a press release. Gross' old contract would have expired after the end of the current season.

"Nico's development during his time in North America and in his first National League season last year was very good", EV Zug's team manager Reto Kläy says. "He has got the requirements to become a leader in the upcoing years."

Nico Gross, who was drafted by the New York Rangers in 2018 (4th round), has recorded two assists in 21 games for EV Zug this season so far. In the video below, the 21-year-old explains his decision to extend his contract in Zug.
