As anticipated yesterday by the "Corriere del Ticino", Lorenzo Canonica will indeed return from North America after three years to play for HC Lugano. The 19-year-old forward has signed a two-year contract. With the Shawinigan Cataractes, Canonica won the 2021-22 QMJHL championship and participated in the Memorial Cup.
Regularly a member of the various Swiss junior national teams, Canonica also took part in two editions of the World Juniors, collecting four points in nine games. As for the current season, Canonica scored 17 goals and collected 21 assists in 43 games with Cataractes.
