The goaltender will join the team for at least two years, beginning with the 2023-24 season.
Lausanne now has two goalies under contract next season with Hughes and Ivars Punnenovs. Tobias Stephan and Viktor Östlund are on expiring contracts.
Hughes, 26, was born in London, Ontario and has the Swiss-Canadian citizenship. In 19 games this season, he was able to put up a .921 save percentage with HC Fribourg-Gottéron. It will be his fourth National League club, after being in the organisations of Ambri, Fribourg and Genève.
