As anticipated by the "Corriere del Ticino" a few days ago, Mario Kempe will indeed suit up for HC Lugano until the end of the season. Kempe spent the last season and a half in Sweden with Luleå HF. However, already at the end of December, it was clear that he would leave the club.
With import forwards Daniel Carr and Markus Granlund out for several weeks, and other Swiss forwards sidelined as well, Kempe will thus have his chance to help HC Lugano get into the postseason.
In 22 games with Luleå HF this season, Kempe scored five goals and collected three assists. He also suited up in the Karjala Cup in November, scoring three goals in three games.
