Goaltender Connor Hughes leaves SC Bern and joins Lausanne HC, while Romain Loeffel goes the other way. Hughes has agreed to a five-year contract with the Bears. The Swiss Canadian dual citizen returned to Lausanne last season after a one-year stint in North America. He will now play in the capital city.

"We're really looking forward to having Connor on the team, and at the same time, we're glad to now be able to rely on Swiss players in the goalkeeper position,” says SCB's Martin Plüss. Romain Loeffel, on the other hand, will stay in Lausanne for two seasons.

The 35-year-old national team player has been playing for SC Bern since 2022 and played about 200 National League games for the Bears. "Being able to welcome Romain Loeffel to Lausanne is a real opportunity for our club and an immediate boost to our defense,” said LHC's team manager John Fust.

Due to the trade, Adam Reideborn will definitely not return to SC Bern for the 2026-27 season. The 34-year-old goaltender appeared in 116 games for SCB from 2023 to 2926. Moreover, Jeff Tomlison will serve as a Senior Hockey Consultant to the team as of August 1. He will join the team one week every month.
