With his expiring contract to HC Lugano not extended, Jiří Sekáč was free to accept the offer from Sparta Praha, for which he already suited up on a loan stint during the 2012-13 season. The club from the capital city has been in contact with Sekáč for a long time. The forward and the club have agreed on a two-year deal.

"In December, we had our third child, so it was the perfect time to return home. I'm full of expectations, and I'm really looking forward to it, especially since I can return to Sparta, where I used to play," Sekáč states in the press release. Sekáč thus leaves Switzerland after five seasons, three with Lausanne HC and two with HC Lugano.
