The rumor from the past weeks of EHC Biel's interest in Johnny Kneubuehler has materialized. Next season, the forward will thus leave HC Ambrì-Piotta after six years and join the Seeländer with a three-year contract in his pocket.
Thomas Roost, the chief scout of EHC Biel, believes that Kneubuehler made significant progress in the past two seasons: "Johnny Kneubuehler is a so-called "late bloomer". [...] In the last two years, he has developed from a supplementary player to an important piece of the HCAP's offense. [...] He has good hand skills, skates quite well, and has also recently raised his hockey sense to the next level."
In 29 games so far this season, the 27-year-old forward has scored four goals and collected six assists, on pace to match his career highs obtained in the 2021-22 season (seven goals and twelve assists).
