Since the series' first game ended in a tie, it was clear that today's winner would clinch the last of the eight playoff spots. EHC Biel laid the foundation for their victory as Tino Kessler and Elvis Schläpfer scored the game's first two goals.
While Landry brought the Biancoblù within one, Gaëtan Haas then recorded the game-winning goal in the 34th minute of play. Both Biel and Ambrì scored again, but HCAP did not manage to tie the game up again.
EHC Biel will face the ZSC Lions in the quarterfinals. They will play their first game on Saturday. The first playoff game for HC Fribourg-Gottéron and HC Lugano will also take place on Saturday. Lausanne HC, HC Davos, SC Bern, and EV Zug will start their playoff journey on Sunday.
