"We have regular contact. The situation is very frustrating for him. He doesn't know what's coming," Martin Steinegger, team manager of EHC Biel, says. Due to the uncertainty regarding his treatment, it is also not clear whether he will be able to continue to play. Still, Lööv will be back in Biel at the beginning of August.
The team is thus discussing at the moment whether they will sign an eighth import player, but they have yet to make a final decision on the subject matter. They are looking at the market, but did not have concrete talks with players yet.
Apart from their import-player contingent, they will also have to make a decision regarding their vacant assistant coaching position. They also have not decided on someone yet, but according to the "Bieler Tagblatt", the tendency is for it "to be a confidant of Petri Matikainen".
They have, however, made a decision regarding Jérémie Bärtschi. The 20-year-old forward is supposed to start the season with a Swiss League team via B-license. According to Steinegger, they are close to finalizing a deal.
