Lausanne HC has signed Floran Douay to a one-year deal. Most recently, the forward played for HC Ambrì-Piotta, but is no stranger to the Lions - he was part of them from 2020 to 2022.
"We are delighted to welcome Floran back to our team", team manager John Fust states. "He left an excellent impression during his first stint in Lausanne. Since then, he has gained in maturity and consistency."
The Lions will also be able to count on Basile Sansonnens coming season. Under contract with them since last summer, the defenseman spent the year on loan with the Rimouski Océanic in the QMJHL.
Asked about his stint overseas, the 18-year-old told La Gruyère that he felt he had become a better player tactically and physically. "Going to Canada was a necessary learning experience for the rest of my career."
The newspaper also wanted to know whether joining the National League runner-up would put extra pressure on him. "I see it more as a honor and a nice challenge. My experience in Canada will help me integrate into a team like Lausanne, which is already doing well. I will do everything I can to help them win."
