It was reported that Yannick Rathgeb would be deciding between staying with EHC Biel or leaving for HC Fribourg-Gottéron. It appears as if the latter ones have made the better impression, seeing as the Dragons informed that they signed the defenseman to a five-year deal.
"We have acquired a very strong player", team manager/ head coach Christian Dubé notes. "Yannick has already impressed us in his first appearance for our club. He is a strong character and competitive player who should help us to contend for the title"
The 28-year-old was already a member of Fribourg from 2015 to 2018 before leaving on a North American adventure. When he returned after one season overseas, he joined Biel.
"I am very happy to join Fribourg-Gottéron", Rathgeb states. "The ambitions of the club are in line with my own aspirations. I am convinced of the sports project and Christian Dubé's expectations."
