After six seasons with Djurgårdens IF, captain Marcus Sörensen is going to leave the SHL and play in the National League as of next season. "We are very proud that we were able to sign a player like Marcus for three years," HC Fribourg-Gottéron's head coach Christian Dubé states.

Sörensen, Dubé says, was exactly what they were looking for: "His speed and technique, as well as his playfulness, fighting spirit and drive to win will make him an important player of ours."

Over the course of this season, Marcus Sörensen has appeared in 34 games for Djurgårdens IF, in which he recorded 14 goals and 19 assists. Over the course of his career, he has also played 260 games in the NHL for the San Jose Sharks (36 goals, 40 assists).
