As of the upcoming season and until 2026, Jacob Larsson will reinforce the defense of the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers. There, he will meet again his former teammate with Frölunda HC, fellow Swede Emil Djuse. Larsson spent the last eight years splitting time between the NHL and the AHL.
Team manager Janick Steinmann believes that Larsson is a complete player: “Jacob is a two-way defenseman who can be used in all situations. At 27, he's in his prime age and has developed into an all-around defenseman in North America in recent years. I'm very excited to see how his development continues on European ice, he has a lot of potential in all situations.”
This past season with the Belleville Senators, the AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, Larsson scored seven goals and recorded 31 assists in 68 games. Overall, he appeared in 172 NHL games and 278 AHL games.
