Starting next summer, the forward will return to his youth team - on a seven-year deal.

A topic that has been reported on several times over the last few days has finally gotten the definite confirmation - Christoph Bertschy will join HC Fribourg-Gottéron next season. The 27-year-old has signed with them until 2029.

Since his return to Switzerland in 2018, the forward has made 170 games for Lausanne HC, recording 58 goals and 57 assists. During his stint in North America  (2015-2018), he mainly suited up in the AHL (210 games/94 points), but also made nine appearances for the Minnesota Wild in the NHL (one assist).

"I have always toyed with the idea of returning home at some point. The fact that I could now reach an agreement with Fribourg-Gottéron for 7 seasons makes me very proud. I will do everything to ensure that we will be successful with the Dragons. My goal is to be able to win the Swiss championship with Fribourg-Gottéron", Bertschy states.
