Fribourg interested in Philipp Kurashev, but he aims for North America

Gerd Zenhäusern had a phone call with Philipp Kurashev, as he mentions to "La Liberté". "As far as I know, he has not signed anywhere yet", HC Fribourg-Gottéron's team manager states regarding the rumors connecting the forward to HC Lugano. "He told me he is hopeful about landing a new contract in North America."

Kurashev was recently released by the San Jose Sharks and has to find a new place for the coming season. Many National League teams are reportedly courting him to return home. Another forward drawing interest from Switzerland, Thomas Bordeleau (in possession of a Swiss player's licence), is not on the Dragons' list, according to Zenhäusern.

If Kurashev does not land in Fribourg, the Attilio-Biasca-shaped hole in the lineup will be replaced by a young player. As "La Liberté" writes, Zenhäusern is aiming to get a deal with Bern done, as the club from the capital has (too) many forwards under contract.
