Some player moves contain a certain entertainment value, and this one might be one of those—Hardy Häman Aktell is joining SC Bern. He has previously played for the Hershey Bears, the Washington Capitals' AHL affiliate, and is moving to the Swiss capital to suit up for the National League's Bears for the coming two-and-a-half years.

Häman Aktell, 26, spent most of his junior time with Skellefteå, made his debut in men's hockey with IF Björklöven in the HockeyAllsvenskan in 2018 and joined the Växjö Lakers two years later. In 2023, the defenseman moved overseas to play for the Washington Capitals, but only got to suit up in the NHL six times.

Besides the defensive reinforcements, Bern has also confirmed the early addition of EHC Winterthur's Christof von Burg, and made a change to the U20 head coach position - Robert Othmann, former coach of SC Langenthal, is replacing Mario Kogler.
