Over the course of the next month, Genève-Servette HC will play 15 games, therefore team manager Marc Gautschi thinks this is a good time to add Henrik Haapala to the roster: "We have a lot of games to play in the coming weeks and we also want to be careful with our injured players, so it's a good time to add a profile like Henrik's."
Haapala, who practiced today for the first time with his new club, is described by Gautschi as one of the best forwards in the Liiga last year and as a quick and intelligent playmaker who will help them boost their offense.
Last season, Haapala suited up in 47 regular season games for Ilves in the Liiga scoring 15 goals and collecting 32 assists, good for sixth overall in the top scorer's standings. In the playoffs, Haapala added three points in eleven games.
