The 36-year-old Canadian will stay with the Grenats until the end of the 2023-24 season.
The contract of the forward would have expired at the end of the season. Daniel Winnik has been with Genève-Servette HC since the 2018-19 season and has been serving as the team's assistant captain since 2020.
In 38 games for the Grenats, he has recorded 23 goals and 21 assists. He is also part of Canada's Olympic roster for the games in Beijing.
