National League

Already brought up back in August, it is now finally clear that the defenseman will indeed move back to his hockey roots.

Almost three months ago, "Blick"'s Grégory Beaud reported that Dave Sutter would join Genève-Servette HC next summer. More recently, at least his departure from HC Fribourg-Gottéron was confirmed, and today the Grenats finally announced that he is, indeed, going to join them. He has signed a three-year deal, valid until 2028.

"We are delighted that Dave, a former junior, is coming back to the club", team manager Marc Gautschi states. "In recent years, he has established himself as one of the country's top defensive players. Despite his size, he is a good skater! We are going to benefit enormously from his physical presence on the ice. With his vast experience and leadership, Dave will be a role model for our young defensemen."

Sutter came up through Geneva's youth department, spent two seasons in North America, and returned to them in 2012 only to leave once more the next year. Since then, he has made 461 National League games for EHC Biel, the ZSC Lions and HC Fribourg-Gottéron.
