The 41-year-old veteran forward would thus stay with HC Davos until the end of the 2025-26 season. After his retirement, he would be offered a different role within the organization.

Andres Ambühl is currently in his 24th National League season and has been HC Davos' captain since the 2014-15 season. HC Davos wants to add another season to the forward's career, as team manager Marc Gianola tells Klaus Zaugg ("Watson"): "We will extend Andres Ambühl's contract for another year."

Gianola also added that the captain would also have a place in the organization after the end of his playing days: "It is clear to us that Andres Ambühl will work for HC Davos after his retirement. We are still leaving it open to decide which position he will take on."

Ambühl, who holds the record for most National League games played, has appeared in 20 games for HC Davos this season, recording seven assists.
