After playing in North America for his whole career thus far, Connor Carrick joined HC Lugano last summer on a deal valid until 2027. One year into his stay in Switzerland, player and club have mutually agreed to terminate their working relationship early.
"For Carrick and his family, this was their first stop in Europe", team manager Janick Steinmann notes. "It was a challenging adjustment. Connor is a wonderful person and did a very professional job in Lugano. Nevertheless, we have decided to go our separate ways."
During his tenure with the Bianconeri, 32-year-old Carrick recorded ten goals and 17 assists in 53 games. Where the future will take the defenseman remains to be seen.
