The Bianconeri have signed the 29-year-old defenseman to a two-year contract, valid until the end of the 2025-26 season.

Calle Dahlström was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013 and played in North America from 2016 to 2023 (67 NHL games, 236 AHL games). He returned to Sweden last summer, signing with Färjestad BK (one goal, 14 assists in 50 games).

While HC Lugano adds a new defenseman, another one has to leave the team. The Bianconeri and Joey LaLeggia have decided to part ways. Hnat Domenichelli already told "RSI" at the end of March that they would talk with the defender after the season, as they were not quite satisfied with his performance. He would have had one year left on his contract with Lugano.
