The 30-year-old defenseman will stay part of the Bianconeri until the end of the 2026-27 season.
"Sam is an experienced defenseman whose leadership and professionalism on and off the ice will be important in the future as an example for our young players on the team," Hnat Domenichelli, team manager of HC Lugano, states.
Guerra joined the Bianconeri in the 2021-22 season and is currently in his third season with HCL. In 29 games, he has recorded four assists. On average, he has been on the ice for 14:54 minutes per game.
