Due to personal reasons, Dan Tangnes has decided that the ongoing season will be his last with EV Zug. His contract would have been valid for one more year.

The organization released a statement in which Tangnes explained his decision: "My family returned to Sweden two years ago, and I want to be closer to my wife and 14-year-old daughter again."

During his seven-year stay in Zug, the 45-year-old Norwegian won the cup once and the National League championship twice, back-to-back in 2021 and 2022.

The organization's team manager Reto Kläy admitted his surprise but accepted the choice. He further emphasized that they will be patient in the search for a successor: "We want to find someone who shares our values and supports our long-term concept."
