With the signing of Lauri Marjamäki, EHC Kloten's quest to find a new head coach after the short stint of Stefan Mair has come to an end. The new man behind the bench brings from Finland a vast baggage of experience at the highest levels.

Team manager Ricardo Schödler: "Lauri convinced us with his clear values and playing principles. Having started his coaching career as a junior coach, he is someone who can develop young players and make them better, which will be a big part of his job here in Kloten. He stands for clear playing principles, stability, and structure".

Marjamäki started coaching at the junior level in 1999 first with Ilves' and then with the Blues' junior squads. From 2007 to 2011 he was an assistant coach for the Blues, before he was made head coach until 2013. Following that, he coached Kärpät (2013-16 and again 2022-24), Jokerit (2018-22) and the Finnish national team (2016-18). In 2014 and 2015 he won the championship and was also named Coach of the Year in 2015.
