If the forward were to not get another contract in the NHL, he would presumably be headed to the Swiss capital.

The Chicago Blackhawks are unlikely to offer an extension to Philipp Kurashev. As reported earlier this month, unless something drastic changes, they will let him go. In that case, an option for Kurashev would be a return to Switzerland. As Klaus Zaugg ("Watson") writes, SC Bern would presumably hold the pole position in that regard.

Kurashev spent most of his junior time within Bern's organization before heading overseas to join the QMJHL's Québec Remparts in 2016. Two years later, he was drafted 120th overall by the Blackhawks and has been part of them since. This season so far, he sits at three goals and two assists in 31 appearances, which is fifth-worst among forwards on the team, with the ones behind him having played fewer games.
