HC Lugano has announced the replacement of assistant coach Paolo Morini: Jordy Murray has signed a two-year contract, thus returning to Lugano 13 years after his stint as a player. In Lugano, he will mainly focus on the development of the forwards.
“Jordy played in the National League. In recent years, he has had the opportunity to develop as a coach within top-tier organisations. He is a young coach, but he has a keen understanding of the game and has already gained a wealth of experience. He is extremely motivated to come to Lugano and help us take the next step,” states team manager Janick Steinmann.
As a player, Murray suited up from 2012 to 2013 with the Bianconeri. After retiring in 2017, the American started coaching in the NCAA with the University of Notre Dame (2021-22), Michigan Tech (2022-2025), and Colorado College (2025-26).
