As HC Ajoie's Academy manager, Tristan Vauclair confirms that Juha-Pekka Hytönen has mentioned wanting to return to his native country, but nothing has been officially decided yet. The coach, however, has reportedly already hinted to the players that this season will be his last in Porrentruy.
“It all depends on the opportunities available to Hytönen, both at Ajoie and in his home country,” says Tristan Vauclair, citing, for example, the possible promotion of the U21 squad, where Hytönen also works as an assistant coach.
Juha-Pekka Hytönen arrived in Ajoie at the beginning of the 2023-24 season as an assistant coach to Christian Wohlwend, head coach of the Ajoulots at that time. In October 2024, Greg Ireland then took over the reins from Wohlwend, but Hytönen remained as part of the coaching staff.
