As was already somewhat expected by the "Berner Zeitung" over a month ago, SC Bern has parted ways with Julius Honka. Instead, the Finnish defenseman will suit up for HC Davos this coming season, having signed a one-year deal.

Honka had joined Bern from Luleå IF last summer on a contract valid until 2025, which was terminated early.

"Julius perfectly matches the player profile we are looking for", his new team manager Jan Alston notes. "With his strength on the puck, he can lead the power play on the blue line as a right-handed shooter. At the same time, he already knows the Swiss league."

Besides the addition of Honka, Davos also handed out another contract. Yanick Lichtensteig has been signed to his first professional deal. The 19-year-old defenseman made his National League debut last season and has been part of the organization since 2019.
