Lausanne signs Colin Miller to a one-year deal

Earlier today, Lausanne HC announced the signing of Colin Miller. The 33-year-old defenseman joins them from the Winnipeg Jets on a deal valid for the coming season. Two weeks ago, the "Neue Zürcher Zeitung" had already reported on a verbal agreement between the player and the club,

"Beyond being a smart and physical player, he is first and foremost a key figure in the locker room who, through his experience and leadership, will help improve the Lausanne team as a whole", John Fust, Lausanne's team manager, states.

Selected 151st overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Miller was traded to the Boston Bruins before making any top-level appearance for his original team. When the Vegas Golden Knights entered the league, he was one of their expansion picks. After Vegas, he also played for Buffalo, Dallas, New Jersey, and, as mentioned above, Winnipeg. In total, Miller suited up 635 times in the NHL.
