EHC Biel has announced the signing of Lias Andersson to a two-year deal. "Blick" had already reported the team's interest in the forward last month, and it seems that common ground has been found. The Swede joins them from Montréal's AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket.
"Lias Andersson is a polyvalent forward who will enhance our offense with his versatility and skills", team manager Martin Steinegger comments the new addition." He is able to function in various forward positions and adapt to the demands of the game both offensively and defensively."
Biel will be Andersson's first station outside North America after going overseas during the 2017-18 season - besides a short stint in Sweden during Covid-times. Drafted seventh overall by the New York Rangers in 2017, the forward left the organization after two years to play for the Los Angeles Kings before ending up in Montréal last summer. In total, Andersson has made 110 games in the NHL and 216 in the AHL.
