Success was out of reach for the Bears not just on, but also off the ice. They did not manage to turn a profit and averaged fewer fans.

SC Bern held a media conference today (relayed by the Berner Zeitung) where they presented the numbers for last season, the changes they have made over the summer, and an outlook into the future.

From a financial perspective, the club finished the year with a loss of CHF 175,794.37. This has already led to some structural changes, one of those being in their gastronomy branch.

Another minus came from the stands last season: "only" an average of 15,505 spectators attended the Bears' games. That number is still good for second in Europe behind the Kölner Haie, however.

A vision for the medium- and long-term-future was also presented, albeit an expected one. They aim to win the Swiss championship again.
