Most recently with EHC Kloten, the defenseman is putting an end to his career on the ice.

In a post on social media, Matteo Nodari has announced his retirement at the age of 36. The defenseman suited up 815 times in the National League plus 70 times in the Swiss League throughout his 18-year-long career.

Nodari made his first steps in men's hockey in 2006 with HC Lugano and EHC Chur. Seven years later, he left for the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, then joined Lausanne HC halfway through the 2014-15 season. In 2020, he returned to the Bianconeri for a while. Nodari's last station was EHC Kloten.
