Nyffeler, except for a short stint with Kloten during the 2016-17 season, has been part of the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers since 2015 and significantly contributed to the club's successes in recent years including the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup title and return to the National League in 2018.
"The SCRJ Lakers and Melvin Nyffeler have grown together in their tasks and have been able to develop steadily," Rapperswil's team manager Jannick Steinmann explains. "Melvin is an important pillar and role model of our club."
